About
CHANG Tengyuan
CHANG Tengyuan (b. 1983, Kaohsiung, Taiwan) lives and works in Taipei. He received his MFA from the Graduate Institute of Plastic Arts at Tainan National University of the Arts in 2011.
His practice — spanning painting, animated installation, sculpture, and mixed media — centers on Parrotman, a fictional alien species conducting an “archaeology of the apocalypse.” Through this recurring figure, Chang constructs a deadpan, often absurdist inventory of the objects, rituals, and anxieties that define human civilization — treating the present as a ruin already waiting to be excavated. The work operates at the boundary between the real and the fictional, where pop iconography, art historical reference, and doomsday mythology converge.
Chang has presented solo exhibitions in Taipei, Osaka, Tokyo, Seoul, Hong Kong, Madrid, and Paris, and has participated in the Taipei Biennial (2016) and the Taiwan Biennial (2020). His most recent solo exhibition, Everything Has A Cute Face, was presented at Gallery Nomart, Osaka, in June 2026. His work is held in the collections of the Kaohsiung Museum of Fine Arts, the National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts, the Taiwan Art Bank, and MOCA OLIVE, Shodoshima, Japan.

2026 年 6 月於大阪 Gallery Nomart 舉辦個展《Everything Has A Cute Face》。
